Do not ignore the fact that your pet is overweight, just like humans this can lead to a number of health problems. Many health issues are made worse if your pet is overweight. Arthritic dogs are often more lame if they are carrying extra weight and may need lower doses of medication once they have slimmed down.
We know that managing your pets' weight can be challenging and often a slow process so we will arrange regular appointments with our nurse to help monitor progress. If it is felt appropriate we will arrange an appointment with a vet to examine your pet if there is an indication that there may be an underlying medical condition.
