What is laser therapy?

Laser Therapy treatment being performedLaser therapy does not treat conditions, it stimulates the body’s inherent healing mechanisms via a process called photobiomodulation.

Through a combination of different wavelengths, power and frequency of laser light it is able to achieve improved healing times, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling.

Why is my pet being offered laser therapy?

Laser therapy has been shown in multiple studies to reduce pain & swelling & improve healing time of wounds, both traumatic & post surgery or dental work.

If your pet is having orthopaedic surgery, it can improve the healing of soft tissue around the surgical site & we may recommend some ongoing sessions.

How does it work?

Normally patient restraint is not required during therapy, indeed most pets find the experience pleasant. Session times vary in length depending upon the condition and the size of your pet, but the majority are around 5 minutes.
